Natural Ways to Stop Feeling Depressed

Life is a drag. What’s the point of anything? I’ll never be happy. Do any of these gloomy thoughts sound familiar? It’s likely they do. The occasional case of the blues is perfectly normal, but that doesn’t make dealing with it any easier. If you allow them to, negative thoughts can fester and lead to serious depression. That’s why it’s important to take action early to bust yourself out of a slump. While these suggestions won’t eliminate your problems, they can help you break a negative thought pattern and stop feeling depressed. If you think you might have a serious mental health problem, don’t hesitate to see a medical professional. 1. Understand the emotional cycle – Life is an emotional roller coaster. Some days you feel like nothing can stop you. Other days you feel utterly hopeless. Most of the time you’re somewhere in between. Understanding the pattern of positive and negative emotions will help you put your feelings in perspective. Next time you feel ...

Ageless formula

What's the secret of eternal youth? see the answer from experts If there is one thing on the wish list of most adults, it is to remain forever young and escape the effects of aging. However, getting on in years is something that cannot be avoided. What accelerates the aging process is the polluted environment we inhabit with all its toxins and chemicals, and the part played by free radicals. Although the human body produces a certain amount of antioxidants to counter free radicals, the silver lining is the fact that Nature has generously provided us with enough antioxidants in fruits, nuts, vegetables, and grains/legumes to help halt the damage. In simple terms, antioxidants are agents that inhibit oxidation and neutralise the oxidant effect of free radicals and other substances, in other words, counter oxidative stress. The rusting of iron, brass artefacts turning black, an apple slice or a piece of raw potato turning brown, are examples of oxidation which happens to all cells i...

Six terrible things you can say to a guy

Things were going swimmingly well until your last outburst. He has suddenly gone into a shell and snapped all communication with you.   You fear having meandered into a forbidden territory, and that things might never be the same again. But still can't point at what exactly went wrong?   One scathing remark is all it takes to shut him down, so even while you are in the middle of a serious fight, remember your vocabulary is key. Jesting about his mom, reminding him of an ex, are just some of the terrible things you can ever say to him. And in so doing create lasting scars in your relationship. We list six awful phrases that turn him red in the face, and need to be done away with ...   pronto.   'Look how smart my brother is, you can never be like him'   Comparisons drive men away! So, simply stop making them, even if they are genuine. Particularly comparisons with your brother, father or worst of all another guy friend can trigger resentment in him. Feel...

Keep the negative vibes to yourself

By now, it’s an accepted fact that all of us urban workers, unlike earlier generations, will go through at least five to six job changes (if not more) during the course of our working lives. But disengaging from one company and moving to another can be a tricky proposition, particularly if you leave on a bad note. There’s always the temptation to badmouth the former workplace and boss. However, while venting your rage may feel good, it’s not right to vent just anywhere nor is it smart to vent to just about anyone. Social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter are supposed to be open forums where you can freely speak your mind. But there have been plenty of instances where people have been let go from their jobs for venting on these websites. For example, in 2009, Dawnmarie Souza, a union worker for the American Medical Response of Connecticut, was fired for insulting her boss in a series of Facebook updates. Moving on People quit their jobs for a variety of reasons, b...

Where can you find happiness?

Where can you find happiness?    A boy was standing at a beach facing the bright sun when it was about to set. A old man who passed him just had a look at that young boy, he found that boy was crying. He inquired the boy, he said I am not happy. The old man asked Why are you not happy?. What ever I do I fail in that, I don\'t succeed. Is that the only reason for your lost happiness questioned again by the old man. He said, hell a lot of things are there, why should I tell you all those stuffs. Old man looked into the boy\'s eye and told, happiness lies within you. It was a shock then for the kid, he asked how come? I am not happy still. In reply to the question old man gave a simple formula to the boy, Happiness = Adjustments / Limitations He then explained the boy, life is full of happiness when you have adjustments and limitations. Happiness is directly proportional to Adjustments and inversely proportional to Limitations. When you feel ...

Why We need to be positive !

There are plenty of reasons for us to invoke the power of positive thinking in ourselves, but most of the benefits of a positive attitude can be sized into one of these more prominent "Big Three Lesses" below: 1. Less Stress   Imagine all the times you were complaining about somebody or something - chances are those negative feelings were leaving their mark on you in the form of stress.A lot of times, an occasional complaint may seem like an instant stress reliever. But what about such an attitude in the long run? Getting into the habit of constant grousing, particularly over trivialities or things not directly in our control (like other people's attitude, for instance), is a sure fire way to invite the negative power of stress into our being. Since stress feeds on negativity, reducing stress is a good reason to eliminate negativity and stay positive in life.  "Attitude is everything. Instead of thinking about what you're missing, try thinking ab...

To remain happy and optimistic when you fail is more important than achieving success.

To remain happy and optimistic when you fail is more important than achieving success. Optimism plays a substantial role throughout our life from childhood through adolescence into adulthood. So, it is necessary to be optimist or positive in spite of any kind of failures or obstacles emerging on our ways, because optimism in failures brings significant advantages to our lives. It leads people to inventions, and makes them be stronger in disasters. In addition, it enables people to live longer. In fact, there have not been any crucial discoveries in history without failures. It is an inescapable part of our life that may guide people to innovations. For instance, a light-bulb, one of the major inventions of mankind, was invented by Thomas Alva Edison after failing more than ninety times. So, as a proverb says: “Only who gets lost, discover new ways”. It proves once again that optimism in failures is the main motive for success, because after reaching success we are no longer willi...

7 habits of really happy people We all know that person. The one who is always laughing, crackin’ jokes, having fun, and just being happy, no matter what’s going on.   Everyone is attracted to them, and perhaps you want to be like them. But maybe you think it’s impossible to always be happy. However, you most certainly can be happy like them and you SHOULD be happy like them. They are no special secrets to how these people can have so much joy. They don’t possess anything that you don’t have. The only thing they do is practice habits that make them happy. So here are seven habits that can be found in people who are always really happy. If you can practice these and turn them into habits you’ll be just as happy as them. 1. Don’t care what others think They don’t care what others think or have to say. If they did, they wouldn’t let themselves free and be happy because of the possibility of scrutiny. Really happy people also never let negative people and their a...

What Does That Smile Mean?

What does that smile really mean?   50 different kinds of smiles make it difficult to decide. Just because someone smiles at you, it doesn't mean that they are pleased to see you, or even happy. Humans have a large repertoire of smiles which indicate different things. We need a good understanding of facial expression and body language, to work these out correctly. There are eighty muscles at work in a smiling face. Genuine, happy smiles tend to broaden out from a minor facial movement to a broad expression that encompasses the whole face. Smiles don't have to be happy. They can be smiles of fear, misery, or even contempt. Smiles send powerful messages in terms of body language, but there seems to be a difference in the way they are used. Women smile more than men when they don't know what to do, because they know that if they smile they won't get it wrong. Men tend not to smile when they don't know what to do because they see it as a sign of we...

No.. Not Blind!

“Love is not blind; it simply enables one to see things others fail to see!" :) True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be. let me share with you this story of my friend, it inspired me... Read as he told me It was a busy morning, approximately 8:30 am, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's, arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He stated that he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am.I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would to able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On examination it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound. While taking care of his wound, we began to engage in conversation. I asked him if he had a doctor's appointment this morning, as he was in such a h...
